What's Your Plan?

I don't care what your career goals are, just make sure you create a plan somewhere along the way to find the success you deserve.

It doesn't matter if you're climbing the corporate ladder, starting your own business, or working at McDonald's. You need a plan. If you want to achieve the results you have in your mind, you need to define success, you need to set the milestones, and you need something to work towards. Without these basic fundamentals, you'll struggle.

You'll find yourself chasing the next shiny opportunity, getting pulled in five directions, wondering why nothing ever sticks. You'll put in effort, but it'll feel like running in place. And before long, you'll start questioning if you're even good at this. That's what happens when there's no real destination and no real system to track if you're getting closer or just spinning in circles.

People love to talk about dreams. But dreams without structure are just distractions in disguise. It's easy to get hyped about a new role, a new project, or a new business idea. But hype dies fast when reality hits and there's no plan to keep you moving forward.

You don't need to have it all figured out. But you do need direction. Pick a path. Set a goal. Decide what the next version of "success" looks like, and build your weeks around it. And if it changes, that's fine. Goals are allowed to evolve. But progress requires intention, and intention requires clarity.

Otherwise, you'll fall into the trap most people do. You'll work hard, but never get ahead. You'll keep saying yes to things that don't serve you, and keep wondering when it's going to be your turn. Spoiler alert: it won't magically happen unless you start steering the wheel.

Success doesn't find you. You chase it with a plan, with discipline, and with relentless self-awareness. No matter your industry, role, or ambition, the same rule applies. Don't just work hard. Work smart.
