If you are a California resident (or just prefer not to be tracked), this page lets you opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising on thescottbond.com. The opt-out takes effect immediately for your current browser and disables the Meta Pixel on this site for you.
What you are opting out of
This site uses the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of Instagram and Facebook ads. When you visit this site, the Meta Pixel records that visit. If you submit a form, hashed versions of identifiers (email, phone, name fragments) may be sent to Meta to improve ad attribution. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), this counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands and even though the identifiers are hashed before being sent.

- Do not run the Meta Pixel on any page in my browser.
- Do not send hashed identifiers from forms I submit to Meta.

How the opt-out works (and what it does not do)
Clicking "Opt me out" sets a small flag in your browser's local storage. Every time a page on this site loads after that, the Meta Pixel checks for that flag and tells Meta to revoke consent for your session. No PageView, Purchase, Subscribe, or other events are sent to Meta from this site.
What this opt-out does:
- Disables the Meta Pixel on thescottbond.com for the browser you are currently using.
- Stops your visits and form submissions on this site from being shared with Meta.
- Persists across visits until you clear your browser data, switch browsers, or click "Reset and opt back in."
What this opt-out does not do:
- It does not control Meta’s use of data Meta already has. To manage that, visit facebook.com/adpreferences or accountscenter.instagram.com/ad_preferences.
- It does not opt you out of Google Analytics on this site. To do that separately, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- It does not extend to other devices or browsers you use. If you switch to your phone, you will need to opt out again there.
- It does not unsubscribe you from the newsletter, cancel a Signal subscription, or revoke SMS opt-in. Those are handled separately. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email. To cancel Signal, use the Signal billing portal. To stop SMS messages, text STOP to the Signal number.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, this site treats it as a request to opt out. The same flag described above is set automatically on page load when GPC is detected, so you do not need to click any button.
